Privacy policy

How we look after your information when you use this website. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Who we are

This website belongs to Twinkle Star Day Nursery Ltd, a family-run day nursery at 34 Chichester Road, North End, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO2 0AD. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

You can reach us on 02392 420234 or by post at the address above.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how we use information collected through this website only. How we look after information about the children and families who attend the nursery is covered separately by the nursery's own policies. Please ask the team if you would like to know more.

If you send us a message

When you use the contact form we ask for your name, your email address, your message and, if you choose, a phone number. We use these details only to reply to your enquiry.

Your message is emailed to the nursery team, and a copy is kept in the private area of this website so that no enquiry is lost. We do not use your details for marketing and we do not pass them to anyone else.

You tick a box to say you are happy for us to use your details in this way, so we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages only for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and we normally delete them within 12 months. If you go on to join the nursery, your details are then looked after under the nursery's own policies.

Who else may handle your information

We do not sell your information. A small number of companies help us run this website and may handle information on our behalf:

  • our hosting company, Hostinger, which stores the website and the enquiries sent through it;
  • Cloudflare, which helps protect the website and runs the spam check on the contact form.

These companies may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to keep it protected.

Spam protection on the contact form

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real people from automated spam programs. It runs a short check in your browser and may look at technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to do this. It is not used for advertising. You can read Cloudflare's own privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Visitor statistics

We use a privacy-friendly tool called Independent Analytics, which runs on our own website, to see which pages are read and how people find us. It records things like the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the general area you are visiting from and the website you came from. It does not use cookies, it does not follow you from site to site, and it does not record your name or email address.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, so you will not see a cookie banner. Our spam check may briefly use your browser's storage to do its job, but it is not used to follow you around the web.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as the Ofsted report. Those websites have their own privacy notices and we are not responsible for them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to limit how we use it;
  • object to how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, just contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy

Please tell us first so we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
