A house with history

From doctors surgery to much-loved nursery.

34 Chichester Road began life as a doctors surgery. Since 2009 the large semi-detached house has been a nursery, and every year it feels a little more like home.

Owner and manager Mrs Kelly North bought the nursery in 2021 and runs it as a family business. With rooms upstairs and down, it keeps the warmth of the house it has always been, a true home from home.

The kitchen is a working part of nursery life, and children are welcome to join in cooking activities there. Outside, a large garden in three sections gives every room its own outdoor space, and the children head out twice a day.

Your child's Key Person

Every child at Twinkle Star has a dedicated Key Person. They keep your child's developmental records, plan their learning and get to know exactly what makes them tick.

Just as importantly, your Key Person talks with you, so home and nursery always know how your child is getting on.

In Baby Stars and Big Stars, an electronic app keeps you informed throughout the nursery day, from sleep times and milk feeds to nappy changes and more.

Settling in, gently

Three short visits, taken at your child's pace.

About an hour

Visit one

The first hour is spent in the playroom with your child's Key Person and their new friends. Your Key Person is there to support you and answer any questions you may have.

About an hour

Visit two

A second hour in the room, if you feel your child needs it. If they are confident, we advise leaving them for half an hour to see how they cope without you there.

About an hour

Visit three

Your child spends time with their new friends, and you can leave them if you wish.

Three visits is the usual pattern, not a rule. We adjust settling in to suit each child, at whatever pace they need.

Day to day

What's included
